The Growl
The Growl
Hello all you Growlers out there. We will be putting out another outstanding periodical in the next several days. After this edition we will be undergoing another transition of sorts. We acknowledge that everyone has to work in this economy just to stay afloat, and having to work infringes on our time to put this thing together. Anyway, long story short, One of our linchpins everyone knows as Steve has had to make a decision to earn money for a living instead of spending his time editing and publishing our stellar magazine. While we are making light and trying to practical about kidding him, we want to stand behind him and hope for the best. SO .....

With the Spring edition of the Growl being published in the coming days, the rest of the editing and publishing team will take some time to regroup and rethink how we are going to meet the high caliber expectations that come with trying to fill Steve's shoes.  Each of us on the team work outside jobs in addition to putting the growl together. We have endured challenges before and will continue to succeed, we just need some time and brain power to figure out the best path forward.

Readers with any ideas are encouraged to contact us as we wade through all the decisions we have to make. We want to express our thanks to everyone who reads and participates in the Growl. She is truly a labor of love in the kindest way!

Now as we march into the spring months with another outstanding volume of information for your reading enhancement, remember that it will only be a short time before you see another edition.  The realization (as we take a few deep breaths) that the election season is upon us with all that it brings - political ads we have to endure, false statements from practically every candidate running for ANY office, skewed reporting from every facet of the media, and the proverbial list goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on ... you get the idea. All this aside, the one job we need to attend to over the next several months is Education!!!  Education is the foundation upon which everything else depends. Our never ending struggle is to give our fellow citizens every available means to self educate possible. It is our responsibility to make sure we supply factual material that the common man can both understand and embrace. This is all about the common man and common sense.

We need, as a country, to pay our bills but more importantly live within our means and stop the spending of money we just do not have!  Not a single one of us can write a check from our bank accounts when there is no money to cover the check ... really bad things happen if we were to do that. Our government should be no different. We must not and will not leave  politicians to their own thoughts... that is what got us in this predicament in the first place. For some strange reason, once these "elected officials" enter the District of Columbia air space they jettison all common sense and stop thinking in a reasonable process. Fiscal responsibility should be one of the founding building blocks that we begin our reconstruction with. We should no longer live by the adage 'Rob Peter to pay Paul' because not only are both Peter and Paul bereft of any money - SO OUR WE! Now we have to add to this caveat the potential that SCOTUS will decieve everyone in the nation and somehow permit the albatross called Health Care Reform to stand. Would this embrace an evil turn of events, certainly, but we can ill afford to put all our eggs in one basket UNTIL the court recesses and states their position.

Let us pray that each sitting justice begins to retrieve their God-given common sense and apply it. Congress and the government were NEVER meant to have a blank check book and free reign over our lives.

As we continue down this road, we need to remember that we are responsible for our actions and ourselves. It is up to each individual to take care of their own to the best of their ability. We are a unique individual community, a family  so to speak. Let us all keep our brothers and sisters in our hearts and prayers as these days wind down. We can all do our part, but we know and God knows that prayer is a wonderful thing!
